Oct. 22, 2007 -- The National Law Journal, the nation's pre-eminent legal news publication, named the qui tam and tax fraud law firm, Phillips & Cohen LLP, to its "Hot List" of plaintiffs' firms today.
It was the second time in three years that Phillips & Cohen was included in the exclusive list. The law firm also was named to the National Law Journal's Hot List in 2004.
Only 13 law firms in the entire U.S. made the 2007 list. The National Law Journal chose law firms whose work was "exemplary" and had "significant" wins in the past year and who had an impressive track record for the past five years.
Phillips & Cohen specializes in representing whistleblowers in qui tam cases brought under the False Claims Act and whistleblowers in tax fraud cases. Cases brought on behalf of whistleblowers by the firm's attorneys have returned more than $2 billion to the U.S. Treasury.
