Whistleblower represented by Phillips & Cohen featured on CBS News

Feb. 8, 2008 - CBS Evening News tonight featured the story of a hospital billing department employee who was represented by Phillips & Cohen LLP in a qui tam lawsuit against a Houston, Texas, hospital for Medicare billing fraud.

Harris County Hospital District paid $15 million to settle the qui tam case, which alleged that the hospital billed Medicare and Medicaid for jail prisoners and automobile accident victims whose treatment wasn't covered by the federal health program.

"It's an attack on the whole system," Robert E. McCaslin Jr., the whistleblower, told CBS. "Everybody that pays taxes is involved in this."
